The SMS is intended to test customer equipment (EUT, Equipment Under Test) as a part of its ATP.

The EUT contains:

  • Four DC motor drivers
  • Four LVDT readouts for motor positions

In addition it contains:

  • Four servo valve drivers
  • Four LVDT readouts for position of hydraulic-driven load

  • Analog I/O
  • Relay logics

The SMS simulates a "true system" for the EUT:

  • It provides motors to drive; the SMS uses digital encoders to read motor rotations. The motor rotations are scaled and substituted as simulated LVDT feedback readout
  • It provides an electrical load similar to servo valve; the measured "servo valve" command current is used in a differential equation model to predict the load position; The SMS simulates an LVDT readout to reflect the simulated load position.
